April 17th 1960 Dr. Joo- Bang Lee & Joo-Sang Lee founded the first Hwa Rang Do® school in Seoul, and two years later they founded the first organization of Korean martial arts called the Kuk Sool Hwe (Korean Martial skills Association). This picture is from the Kuk Sool Hwe National Exhibition at JangChoong Sports Arena in Seoul, Korea, April 1964.

1962 Korean Martial Skills Association (HanKuk MuSool Hwe - Short name: KukSool Hwe) National Headquarters at Seoul Korea. Hwa Rang Do® Do Joo Nim Dr. Joo-Bang Lee and KukSunNim Joo-Sang Lee promote the 1964 3rd Annual Kuk Sool Hwe Martial Arts National Exhibition in Seoul Korea. This was the first martial art exhibition to be broadcasted nationally in Korea (Korean KBS-TV).

May 27, 1968 - Korean Martial Arts Association (Daehan Mudo Hwe). All Korean Martial Arts had been unified under one organization and a national martial arts exhibition and demonstration was held at the JangChoong Sports Arena in Seoul, Korea. These unified national exhibitions and demonstrations were done under promotional efforts of Hwa Rang Do® Founder Dr. Joo-Bang Lee and Joo-Sang Lee.

(This demonstration features YuSool (Yawara) Founder Yong-Sul Choi. This was the time that Grandmaster Choi accepted the DoJooNim (Owner of the Art) position of the Hapkido name. Before this he used the DaitoryuYawara (Daedongryu Yusool)name exclusively )

May 27, 1968 - The Unified Korean Martial Arts Association national demonstration and exhibition.

(When Dr. Joo-Bang Lee and Joo-Sang Lee returned to their original art of Hwa Rang Do® after the disbanding of the Daehan Mudo Hwe, they gave up their all their affiliations and connection to Hapkido, including: Founder position, dedications, reputations, and all use of the Hapkido name.)
