There are some unqualified and uncertified Academies in existence today. Hwa Rang Do® is different than other martial arts in that there is only one governing association in the world. By Hwa Rang Do® law there cannot be any other organization/s made. The Hwa Rang Do® name is an internationally registered trademark. If the Hwa Rang Do® name is used with out permission, it is in violation of trademark and copyright laws.
"Federal law provides severe civil and criminal penalties for the unauthorized use of these registered names to the any Martial arts instructional business names, any martial arts instructional videos DVDs CDs or web sites. The only authorizing entity to incorporate the word HWA RANG (connected with the martial arts) or HWA RANG DO® and the word TAE SOO DO® (connected with the martial arts) is the World Hwa Rang Do® Association as defined by 17U.S.C. Section 101 et seq. and any violations could be liable for statutory damages as high as $150,000 as set forth in Section 504(c)(2) therein".
The World Hwa Rang Do® Association certifies and accredits all legitimate Academies and black belts.
All Hwa Rang Do®/ Tae Soo Do® Acaemies, schools, and clubs must proudly display their annual Dojang license certificate and the Instructor license certificate. Only licensed Academies, schools, and clubs with certificates support the Hwa Rang Do®/Tae Soo Do® government. Only they have the rights to use the martial art name Hwa Rang Do®/Tae Soo Do®. If a school doesn`t have a license, then they are imposters stealing our art name to defraud the public. Many present martial arts businesses are like retail stores. Some people steal reputable martial art style names, ranks, and titles. We must protect our style name for the honor of past and future generations to keep Hwa Rang Do® / Tae Soo Do® unified and strong. So you can rightly demand your money back from these dishonorable swindlers who damage our proud true martial spirits.
